I'm a 25 year old man, living in Suffolk. I work in a lighting shop, repairing and converting table lamps and chandeliers. I started woodworking with my grandfather when I was very young, and learnt a small amount about how to use tools, and an invaluable amount about how to treat them, and the materials with respect. I'd not class myself as a 'maker', but enjoy trying my hand at things that interest me, and enjoy the process possibly more than the result sometimes. My guitar build is based off of a video game that my brother has designed, respectfully using inspiration from Anglo Saxon history, such as Sutton Hoo, and the rich history of Bury St. Edmunds, my home town. My design is a through-neck mahogany 6 string, with tulipwood wings and a London Plane fretboard. I plan on it being fretless above the 12th, and the shape is based on the Anglo Saxon lyre, with arrow shaped inlay markers as a reference to St. Edmund.
