Hi, I'm Ron Mason, owner of RWM Guitars in Middlesex County, Connecticut. As a luthier, I specialize in hand built custom electric guitars from reclaimed or locally sourced wood.

My love for guitars came later in life, first by starting to play guitar at the age of 30 (never too late!), then playing in bands, hot-rodding my own guitars, and later building a couple of kit-guitars. The greatest leap forward happened when I was mentored by Luthier Jamie Boss at his Woodstock, CT shop. It was then becoming a luthier took hold and my career path began to change, and I'm eternally grateful.

For the Great Guitar Build off I am planning on building a short scale bass. I will be using a Warmoth neck and will be making the body myself. It will be an offset body made from a piece of maple butcher block left over from a kitchen remodel. It will be semi-hollow with a walnut top. I have not yet decided on the pickups.
