The Great Guitar Build-off
Marco Feudale
Hi, I'm Marco Feudale. I am a luthier from Italy. I started building guitars when a was studying for my bachelor's degree and then I found out that I liked it more than working as a researcher. So, after I finished my studies, I started working as a luthier full time. I have a small workshop in my garage and I have a youtube channel called FeudoMusic, just like my brand, where I post video tutorials, sound tests of my custom guitars and occasionally reviews. I recently finished a series of live streaming where I was building an axe shaped guitar, with floyd rose and scalloped fretboard.
For this build I'll make an eight strings, multiscale neck through guitar, with a marble mosaic top. I'll use rosewood for the neck, ash for the sides, highly figurate walnut for the fretboard and, of course, marble tiles for the top. The general shape of the guitar will be reminiscent of two dragon wings with claws at both ends of the body. I'm also planning to carve a few shapes curled around the neck and fretboard, but I still have to decide exactly what. I was inspired last summer when I visited a church with splendid mosaics and I decided to give it a try. I don't know the first thing about working with marble, but I think it's a good opportunity to learn.
The reason I decided to participate, is, obviously, to have an excuse to build another guitar for myself, considering that I already have 24 guitars; However, jokes aside, I would like to get a bit of visibility for my youtube channel and my company, but it's also a great way to start making English videos, since I've only made them in Italian until now
I will document the entire build and I will post education videos on my youtube channel to try and teach the viewer everything I can on how to build a guitar, so I hope my awful pronunciation won't be too unbearable.
