My name is John, and I started Everest Custom Guitars last year, just before COVID hit. I had done work on guitars in my spare time for a number of years, fixing up finds from Craigslist or garage sales. Then I decided to make a guitar body from scratch, so I did. Then, I decided to make an entire guitar from scratch, and it turned out way better than I'd ever thought I could have done before starting. So I decided to make it a permanent hobby, and in the past year I've made 7 guitars, all from scratch.
For this GGBO build, I want to take my skillset further and do something new and challenging. I'd like to do a headless multiscale guitar, with an intricate inlay or design of some kind. I have experimented with laser engraving and I love the look of something like Dino Caserez's "Aztec" Ormsby guitar. I think a Tibetan thangka/mandala motif would be pretty cool, extending into the fingerboard and headstock, hopefully.
