Hi my name is James I am, 38 years old and I live in the heart of Sherwood Forest in a small village called Kings Clipstone which is in the East Midlands. All of my working life I have served in the British Army and I've never really had the time or work space to build guitars. My guitar building journey started about two years ago when I built a rustic piece of furniture. After the furniture build was completed I had some timber left over and a close friend of mine had his eye on it. He popped out the question "Hey mate do you think we could build a guitar from that left over timber?" My answer was OK.............. never built a guitar before, however it sparked my creative mind. After many many hours of research and watching of crimson guitars tutorials and videos I agreed to take the challenge of building my first guitar with my good friend giving all the design ideas and myself building the instrument. Since then I have built many guitars and now have a real passion for working with wood and building one of a kind bespoke guitars. I have also started a Facebook page / shop and other socials on Instagram and recently YouTube.

GGBO 2021 Entry - The Dragon Back My GGBO entry has a overall theme of dragons. The inspiration comes from dragon skin and scales and the overall pattern of the dragon scales are formed. I intend to use pinecone scales in resin to create the look and feel of dragon scales hence the guitars name The Dragon Back.

Specs - 25.5 scale 21 frets. 6 in a line machine heads. Mahogany neck and wenge fretboard with custom red resin inlay. 9.5 radius fretboard. Solid body made from Opepe timber and centre red resin channel with pinecone scales to give the look and feel of dragon scales. Electronics , hardware and pickups will all be revealed in my build series on YouTube
