I am a teacher in Indiana, USA. I decided to try out guitar building as a quarantine hobby last year, and I have fallen in love with it. I am currently finishing my 3rd, 4th, and 5th guitar builds. I actually got into guitar building right around the time of the GGBO last year, and those videos were many of my first experiences in the guitar building world. My plan is to build a guitar, shape tbd, from poplar and mahogany, bought locally. I am planning to cut them into diagonal sections so that I can alternate between the two woods in a diagonal pattern while keeping the grain consistently vertical. If it works out, I want to continue that pattern up through the fingerboard. I want to use an oil finish throughout. Looking forward to getting started, thanks for the opportunity!
