I'm entering the scratch build as I have bought a "neck kit" - this has a precut neck blank, with channels for truss rod and strengthening rods and comes with a slotted fingerboard. 

But for me I've only ever done kits or partscasters so this is for me the most ambitious build I've ever contemplated.  The guitar will be "inspired" by a Peter Cook Custom Axis model guitar I've owned since the 80s.
