Hi I'm Dane Nichols. I started my guitar building journey over 20 years ago helping a high school senior build an electric guitar. I had a full on cabinet shop and was extremely bored with building boxes. This first guitar build was a scratch build and was the first time in a very long time that I enjoyed making something from wood. As most guitar makers will tell you it's a very slippery slope once you build your first guitar it gets in your blood and becomes an addiction. I didn't realized I would have to be completely settled on what I will build for this competition but I'm leaning heavily toward a 30" bass built on an ES-335 style body semi-hollow all mahogany carved top and back, not pressed. With a few quirks.
